Sleeping...
Well, that's another year over. This year saw relatively few events taking place, including the Welcoming Party at Revolution, the fancy dress night at Slains&Indigo on Halloween and the pre-party for the Gayleidh at RGUnion. But for now we are resting quietly until a new semester starts. If you are interested in planning future events or doing anything relating to the society by all means get in touch as we are recruiting now for our committee (the one that plans over the summer and is in charge of everything next year). It's great fun and a great chance to take things into your own hands and not to mention great experience. Whether you're joining RGU as a fresher in September or starting your final year we definitely want you on our committee!! So get in touch... :-)

We have usually met every Wednesday night to watch a film, go to the pub, go bowling etc. and probably will continue next semester, but the exact dates and times are in the process of being formalised so please check back as term starts for more details.

If you are interested in coming along to our events but feeling shy or just want to meet someone beforehand to see if you really do wanna come along or at least have a familiar face when you do, by all means contact us in time at rgulgbclub@yahoo.co.uk

For information on what to do whilst you wait for us to get our fingers out (...) check the "Scene" section.

To get some idea of what we did last year, here's a sample of some random past events:

Meeting up with Ab-Fab
We will be meeting up in Bar Pivo (next to Estaminet) at 9pm for a few drinks and then heading on to meet up with University of Aberdeen's LGBT society, Ab-Fab, at 10:00-ish in the Bobbin (pub) on King Street.

Hogs Head Meat&Greet night!!!
We are going to meet up in the OLD Hogs Head in the Academy shopping centre
, where will have a space all to ourselves upstairs. There will be a FREE buffet and you also get one FREE drink at the bar. In addition to this we are also working on getting drinks promotions but this is unclear at the moment.
Come along if you always do, if you never have, haven't for a while or accompanying a friend.
New members are particularly welcome.

Film and Pub night
We will be meeting up to watch a film in room C401 in Clarke Building, Schoolhill -entry via Pharmacy entrance- at 18:30. After the film has finished (between 20:30 and 20:45) well be heading over to Siberia Vodka Bar in Belmont Street and staying there for a while, ending the night in Indigo.

St.Andrews National LGBT ball!!!!
We are going down to St.Andrews on the 24th, returning on the 25th. We will be joining the St.Andrews LGBT society and other such societies from all over Scotland (including University of Aberdeen's AbFab - who is also joining us on the bus - and much much more) in celebrating 30years of St.Andrews LGBT society in the St.Andrews Aquarium!! This might well be the most fun event of the semester so don't miss out and make sure to let us know you're coming A.S.A.P.!!
(We need to know by Thursday the 15th of April!)
For a modest price of around 30-40pounds (prices still being finalised) you get the bus down there and back, accommodation for one night, the ball ticket and some a "surprise coctail" of alcohol for drinking on the way down there.
If you're there that weekend anyway and have accommodation as well, you can buy tickets there on the night for I believe 10pounds for the ball only.
Make sure to let us know a.s.a.p. if you are coming.

Generally, events last semester included everything from bowling, iceskating and general drunkenness to trips outside of Aberdeen (p.s. if you are interested in a trip to Dublin,Amsterdam or London and another to Edinburgh, let us now as we are planning some for this semester including to meet other LGBT soc. and have some fun with them etc.).

If you have any ideas at all whatsoever PLEASE email them to us (rgulgbclub@yahoo.co.uk) or tell us at one of our events or even in our office (04/05 office hours to be announced) as we always welcome new ideas.
