About Us:

We are the Robert Gordon University Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender society.

We are on our summer holiday now, but generally meet regularly during term time. Meeting places and events vary but can usually be checked through our 'events' section.

If you are uncomfortable with or unsure of coming along, please contact us and we can meet up with you beforehand, that way it might be easier for you to evaluate whether you want to come along and also it means that there will be at least one familiar face.
We can also meet up with you just to introduce Aberdeen and its' scene to you.

At the moment we are looking for people willing to take part in the organisation of the society, ie. to replace the current committee. If we can recruit a committee to start now rather than at the start of next term, this would make for a lot of time for planning events next semester and an earlier start - not to mention some possible summer events.

Also, despite being loadsa fun, we are by no means just a social group, so if you need someone to talk to or have any problems at all please contact us. We will generally either be able to help you ourselves or refer you to people we trust and know might be better equipped to help.

This winter we have just started to build the foundations of a small archive of LGBT literature and other media (gay magazines, books, dvds, videos etc);our own little gay library. We have also in the past had a part time office at the RGUnion building on Schoolhill, but do not have one at present.

We also organise various trips (including to meet up with other LGBT societies elsewhere) and if there is interest, would look into having a political subgroup that attends NUS conferences, raises awareness etc.

Last but not least, our main function will probably always be to provide a social structure for RGU lgbt's (or other Aberdeen lgbt's - 99% of all our activities are open to all) as well as entertainment (both clubbing and such as well as "healthier" alternatives) for the same group.
